Dr. Conrad Gottfredson Chief Learning Strategist

Dr. Conrad Gottfredson is a senior partner, and the Chief Learning Strategist, at APPLY Synergies, a strategic consulting firm that specializes in helping learning organizations design, develop and measure effective learning and performance support strategies to meet the 5 moments of learning need.

Con has a PhD in Instructional Psychology and Technology. His strategic work with organizations is informed by over 30 years of real-world experience. He is a proven leader in helping clients gain and sustain effective performance in the workplace.

Con has deep experience in helping organizations optimize their entire learning ecosystem. He helps companies identify and implement On-the-Job Learning (OJL) practices along with the support infrastructure they need to be able to learn and adapt ahead of change. He has designed, developed, and managed many hundreds of learning and performance solutions addressing the complete scope of delivery systems, strategies, audiences, and settings. These settings have ranged from small to large international corporations, governmental agencies, universities, and religious organizations.

Con has also worked with Learning and Development teams to establish collaborative instructional development and maintenance processes to eliminate wasteful redundancies and focus on specialized skills and knowledge. These collaborative development models have provided significant cost benefits in environments of constrained resources and overwhelming development requirements. He formulated the 5 Moments of Learning Need framework and developed the AGILE model for Instructional design.

Dr. Gottfredson has worked with clients such as Bank of America, Accenture, Homeland Security, Bayer, Amerada Hess, Abbott Laboratories, Verizon, Grundfos, Disney, Beneficial Financial Group, Caterpillar, Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks, Franklin Covey, GE, Hallmark, The Hartford, Vancouver Island Health Authority, Microsoft, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Paul companies, and the State of Texas, Standard Oil of Ohio.

Con is also an accomplished author and speaker. He is the co-author of: Innovative Performance Support: Tools and Strategies for Learning in the Workflow and a contributing author to Timothy Clark’s book: The Employee Engagement Mindset: The Six Drivers for Tapping into the Hidden Potential of Everyone in Your Company. He is also a regular author in many industry magazines such as Learning Solutions Magazine and CLO Magazine. He has developed and presented public seminars to many thousands of participants both nationally and internationally.

Bob Mosher Chief Learning Evangelist

Bob Mosher is a senior partner, and the Chief Learning Evangelist, at APPLY Synergies, a strategic consulting firm that specializes in helping learning organizations design, develop and measure effective learning and performance support strategies to meet the 5 moments of learning need.

Bob has been an active and influential leader in the learning and training industry for over 30 years and is renowned worldwide for his pioneering role in e-learning and new approaches to learning. Bob came to APPLY Synergies from Ontuitive, a world leader in Performance Support Software, where he was the Global Chief Learning Evangelist. Before joining Ontuitive he was with Microsoft, where he was Director of Learning Strategy and Evangelism, a global business at Microsoft Corporation featuring innovative learning products that help individuals and organizations learn more and go further using Microsoft technologies. Bob helped guide and communicate the direction of Microsoft Learning’s products both externally to their customers, and internally throughout Microsoft. Bob started his career in adult education with Element K. He was their Executive Director of Education for 16 years where he helped direct and influence their learning model and product.

He has acted as an influential voice in the Learning and Development industry by speaking at conferences and by being an active participant and author within industry associations such as ISPI, ASTD, the Masie Consortium, the e-Learning Guild, and CLO Symposium/Magazine.

Bob has worked with clients such as McDonald’s, Bank of America, Herman Miller, Hitachi, Disney University, Progressive Insurance, Huntington National Bank, Bank of America, Travelers Insurance, The Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Boeing, ADP, Amway, CDW, GE Medical, Humana, and ExxonMobil.

Bob has received two lifetime achievement awards in the Training industry. In 1997, Bob received the ITTA’s Eddy Award for Excellence, awarded to individuals who exemplify excellence in the IT education industry. And most recently he received the Institute for IT Training’s 2006 Colin Conder award presented to a person who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the IT training industry. He is the co-author of two books: Training for Results and Innovative Performance Support: Tools and Strategies for Learning in the Workflow. Bob also spent five years as a teacher in New York’s public schools, and has a master’s degree in computer education from Nazareth University in Rochester, NY.

Alfred Remmits Managing Partner, APPLY Synergies Europe

Alfred Remmits is the managing partner for APPLY Synergies Europe, helping European learning organizations design, develop and measure effective learning and performance support strategies to meet the 5 Moments of Learning Need. Alfred’s focus is on helping L&D departments of large companies and organizations throughout Europe enable the concept and approach to workflow learning by using the 5 Moments of Learning Need design methodology. Alfred is assisting several learning organizations in making the leap towards this new approach and helping them to understand and adopt this new agile design and development approach to support the complete learning journeys of their employees!

Alfred Remmits has been the founder of several companies in the world of Learning & Performance Support, including one of the largest IT training companies in the Netherlands in the late 80s, and one of the leading Global Performance Support companies in early 2000. Alfred is also the founder and CEO of Xprtise, a global learning & performance organization focused on the implementation of large Performance Support and Adaptive Learning technologies, based on the 5 Moments of Learning Need methodology.

Alfred is a globally recognized speaker at learning events and is recognized internationally for his views on 70:20:10, Performance Support, Adaptive Learning and the topic of “Big Data in Learning & Development.” Alfred has served on many boards, including Microsoft’s Global Learning Advisory Board between 2004 and 2006, and is currently serving on the Board of the Performance Support Community in the US. Alfred has a master’s degree in Social Science from the University of Amsterdam and lives in the Netherlands.
